FAQ

Here is a list of common questions asked:

What speed do you walk at?

We walk an average of 2.5-2.7 mph (roughly 4km per hour)

Are your walks open to all abilities?

Yes!

Whether you are a pro walker or a beginner, please do join us.

What happens if I am slower then the group?

Don’t worry, you will not be forgotten, as with each walk, there is a designated back marker, who will be at the back of the pack and will stay with you, so you won’t get lost.

Plus the front of the group will wait at points along the walk, to pull the group together.

Are the walks FREE?

Yes, both membership to Retro Ramblers and its walks are free, so anyone can join.

However, Retro Rambler/Peggy-Sue does fundraise for charity, and will have a collection tub at every walk, if anyone wants to donate.

If the unfortunate happens and I have a fall, is there a First Aider?

Yes, whilst everyone taking part in these walks, do so at their own risk, there will be a First Aid Trained person carrying a basic first aid kit, with plasters, blister plasters, KT Tape, etc.

If you are on any medication, please do carry them with you, especially inhalers and EpiPens!

Are children allowed on your walks?

Yes, but you are responsible for your own children, so please keep them with you, and they must walk at the pace of the group.

The participants are not childminders.

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved dogs, on leads, are most welcome on these walks.

However, I cannot guarantee that they are welcome at any café/pub we visit during/at the end of a walk.

How do you plan the routes?

The routes are planned using a paid subscription to Komoot, which follows paths and rights of ways, you can find the routes here: www.komoot.com/collection/3346538/-retro-ramblers
